The Philanthropist Fellowship
Dame Stephanie Shirley & Matthew Bowcock
, Co-Chairs

There is a growing body of philanthropists in Britain able to contribute significant funds, skills and contacts to improve the lives of others, and these individuals and families are increasingly giving at a level that requires strategic planning.

Effective giving requires knowledge and insight, which can be gained through personal experience and by networking with those who have trodden the same path, and peer relationships encourage increased and more effective giving.

The Philanthropist Fellowship will be a voluntary, membership-based body that brings philanthropists throughout the UK together on a regular basis to develop their skills so that they can give with greater impact.

Independent, the Philanthropist Fellowship offers opportunities to learn and share knowledge through topical seminars, private meetings, subject briefings and access to other networking services.  All of these activities will be private in a media-free zone.

To ensure philanthropy is a force for change both individually and collectively, the Philanthropist Fellowship will enable members to put forward their views on its role, regulation and responsibilities to decision makers within government and without.
